Treat Yourself
If you’re like me, you constantly are bombarded with things to do. School projects, social outings, family activities. All are good, but isn’t it beneficial to be alone, too? Here is how and why.

Being kind to yourself is essential in being happy. This means taking time to relax and learn more about yourself.
1. Take a full bath:Personally, I take about 3 or 4 bubblebaths a week. In the warm water my muscles are relaxed and so is my mind. It is a great sensory thing but also the quietness and peace is very reassuring when surrounded by loud noises all day. Try adding candles all around the bath, ditching the electronics, and throwing in a bath bomb, such as this recipe: 1 scoop epsom saltA few drops of essential oils, such as vanilla or lavenderRose petals
2. Running or walking to a magical place:I love walking and running, and usually take time out of my week to walk for hours on end. I love walking and I feel perfectly in balance listening to happy music as I feel the wind kiss my face and twirl my hair. I love walking alone, it is probably one of my favorite things in the world. Find a good safe place to walk, such as a park, beach, or beautiful neighborhood. Picking a time of day is essential. I love around the hours 4-7pm because somewhere in that time the sun soaks everything in gold. Wear comfortable clothes, sneakers, bring chapstick and don’t forget your keys and phone (but don’t go on any social media! The phone is only for music.)
3. Doing something nice for another:I always find that when I do something nice for someone else I feel happier with myself. Make someone you love and care about a card, send them a nice text or something personalized, such as a funny video that you think they’d like! Trust me, people remember it and it feels great after.
4. Feed your body nourishing and healthy foods:Leafy greens such as kale, spinach, and collard greens are packed with vitamins and minerals that help keep you vibrant and strong. Try a nourishing and delicious smoothie recepie in the morning to get your body going:-1 banana (potassium for sustained energy)-1 tbs of chia seeds (helps natural bacteria in your body digest) -1 cup coconut water (keeps you very hydrated and gives electrolytes) -4 or 5 strawberries (packed with vitamin C)-1 tbs of flaxseed oil (helps produce good bacteria)-1 tbs cacao powder (for richness, also helps ‘happy’ chemicals in the brain)-Add water or almond milk, blend and enjoy!
