Camel coats and Alexa Chung.
After spending endless hours of searching for the perfect subject for my first article, scouring the internet for some interesting subject to grace this lovely magazine page with, I gave up. That is, until I remembered my infatuation with Alexa Chung, the British Beauty from Hampshire, I knew I’d have to write about her.

Why Alexa Chung? Well, why not Alexa Chung? Not only is she one of my all-time favourite people on the planet, but she is also my go-to when I’m feeling dreadfully unfashionable and out of ideas on what to wear for everyday occasions. So, on that note, I’d like to share my infatuation with you, our readers, and hope that you fall head over heels with her too.
One of the many things that I love about Alexa is how she dresses with such ease and comfort, yet she undoubtedly looks gorgeous and fashionable every time. Many of her outfits are styled with the camel coat, which is a gorgeous oversized wool coat in a warm camel colour – perfect for winter or autumn. One of the many outfits that I admire with this piece and often recreate is the breton tee and black skinnies, teemed with a camel coat, Windsor Smith-esque sandals and accessorised with a black floppy hat, cat-eye sunnies and of course, a tote bag. This look is a great look for chilly days visiting your favourite boutiques and thrift stores or grabbing a coffee with friends.
Another one of her looks that I love, with an appearance of the camel coat, is her outfit styled around the boyfriend jean. Styled with a basic tee, camel coat, black shopper and leather brogues, the look is minimalistic yet effortless and easy to recreate. Not only is the outfit comfortable, but stylish. It is also another great look for shopping or a coffee date.
Alexa’s style ranges from these comfy styles to pops of colour to exotic leopard print, and my favourite item of hers is her pair of black cat slippers. She is effortless and chic and undeniably one of the greatest role models of this generation’s faces of fashion and culture. And that is why I am undoubtedly in love with her.
If you’d like to see more inside the fashion choices of Alexa Chung, and understand how she became to be one of my role models in the fashion world, please take a look at her biography “IT” which is on sale now.
